What is the kernel?

Two people can have the same biography and be nothing alike. The difference is what happens inside you the instant something lands — a sound, a sentence, a stranger crying beside you. We call that reflex the kernel. We never ask you to describe it, because nobody can: it is built from your first, unedited reactions to things you have never seen. In time, your Echo can meet something that never existed in your archive and still answer the way you would.
